Strategy Sprints
Sprints are designed as “90% Build / 10% Teach” interactive, output-driven sessions. Teams build, receive structured guidance, pressure-test their ideas, and leave with a refined “version 1” to accelerate roadmap development, decision-making, and polish their investor narratives.
Why Sprints Work
Learn By Doing
We explain the fundamentals. Then we apply those principles to your development.
Pressure Test Concepts
Participants define their choices and receive cohort feedback as a structured rubric.
Real Deliverables
Participants leave with a version 1 Strategy or TPP and walk away empowered to move past early friction points.
Strategy Sprints: Execution Without Added Complexity.
Strategic Clarity in Early-Stage Drug or Platform Development
A facilitated Sprint of the Strategic Choice Cascade framework from Roger Martin and A.G. Lafley's Playing to Win, applied to early-stage drug and platform development (Discovery – Phase I). Participants define their development choices, build a strategy on a page, and pressure-test their ideas against a structured rubric.
Sprint Components
Engaging exercises to wake up the mind and inspire interactions between the participants.
We discuss what strategy is and what it isn’t. Hint: strategy is all about choices.
Explain the framework to build a strategy for early drug and platform development.
Participants define their choices and top three execution priorities to reach their goal.
Small-group sessions where participants challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and sharpen their strategy with a structured rubric.
2–3 participants receive live feedback from the entire cohort.
45-minute follow-up included: Following the Sprint, every team receives a 45-minute individual session to review knowledge, and evidence gaps to refine their strategy.
The Power of the Target Product Profile (TPP)
The TPP explains the product features you intend to develop. It guides development activities by bringing clarity to your product concept and target patient populations.
Sprint Components
A quick exercise that builds cohort connection and sparks creativity.
Explain (1) what elements are important in building a target product profile; and (2) how the TPP connects to your Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
Participants draft their own TPP in real time, outlining what is known, unknown, and their next key activities.
Structured feedback in small groups to refine the TPP.
2–3 participants received structured feedback during a full-cohort critique.
Follow-Up Included: teams receive a dedicated 45-minute follow-up session to further refine their TPP and clarify next steps.
What You Receive
Strategy Sprints are not hypothetical exercises. Every team walks out with deliverables for their development.
Who This Is For
Early-stage drug and platform innovators often have a clear vision yet struggle to transform their ideas into cohesive development roadmaps. Our Sprints resolve two key bottlenecks that stall early-stage programs: unclear choices and product characteristics.
The Sprints are designed for researchers, program teams, and founders driving early-stage drug or platform development who need to turn a compelling goal into a clear, decision-ready strategy and executable roadmap.
- Biotech start-up R&D development teams
- Principal Investigators (PIs), Postdocs, and early-career scientists leading translational programs
- Non-profits, Accelerators / Biohubs, and Coalitions supporting development programs
